Our Vision
Arment is a platform for constructive debate where ideas clash, not people. We believe in the power of respectful discourse to sharpen thinking, challenge assumptions, and find truth through rigorous argument.
Core Principles
1. Engage in Good Faith
Participate in debates with honest intent. Present your genuine beliefs, respond to opponents' actual arguments, and acknowledge valid points.
2. Focus on Ideas, Not People
Attack arguments, not the people making them. Personal insults, character attacks, and ad hominem fallacies have no place in debate.
3. Support Your Claims
Back up your arguments with evidence, logic, and reasoning. Unsupported assertions weaken your position.
4. Listen and Respond
Actually engage with your opponent's arguments. Don't just wait for your turn to talk – respond to what they've said.
5. Admit When You're Wrong
Changing your mind in light of new evidence is a strength, not a weakness. Intellectual honesty builds credibility.
